As of the first of January of this year, the French government requires freight trucks in urban areas to use the ‘angles morts’ or blind spot warning labels. These labels are now also available in our assortment and can be ordered via email or by phone.
The policy serves the safety of cyclers as well as pedestrians. Since March 1st, drivers will receive a €135,- or more ticket if the label isn’t attached to their truck. The official, French-written document discussing the decision can be found here.
As of right now, it remains uncertain to what extent this measure will be standardized, given that it is based on an initiative taken independently by the French Ministry of Ecological Transition, without consultancy from the European Union. We will keep you posted on any developments regarding this situation. In the meantime, reach out to us by phone or via email if you want to order the label: we will then discuss your needs and pricing.
